Meet #6 Info - WAT @ NF
Waverunners,
OUR LAST MEET! Please read this email in its entirety to have all info needed:
- Location: 1575 Natchez Way, Grayson, GA 30017
- Report time: 5 PM
- Warm Up: 5:25 PM
- NO TENTS TO THIS MEET! We will be in the sun, but the deck is small and we have too many bodies to set up tents on that side of the pool. Bring your hats and sunscreen :)
- Senior Swimmers: we will be hosting your senior swim before the meet starts at 5:50 PM. We will be announcing you based on the google form you filled out and letting you guys do a fun swim (dressed up how you like) together in one heat, followed by North Forke’s seniors.
Tips & Tricks for Parents:
- SHARPIE! It would be best to write your swimmer’s events, heat & lane number on their arm prior to arriving. Please see the image below as an example.
- FOR OUR LITTLE SWIMMERS, we recommend writing their full name, age, and WAT on their shoulder so that volunteers can easily place them where they need to be. Our littles get nervous, and we do not want them to get lost
- Swimtopia App: The heat sheet and your child's events are available in the app. If you wish to get live results, reminders for events, and other premium features, the app does allow you to upgrade. However, this is not necessary, and having the heat sheet is plenty enough
- Extras! Please bring extras of everything for your swimmers! Goggles, towels, swim caps - you never know when something will break!
Parking
We do have some parking at our pool, but it will fill up fast. The parking just past the pool adjacent to the tennis courts is reserved for the players who have a tennis match during our meet, and that area is off limits for swim meet parking. Please park on the pool side of the street. There will be signs indicating this. Please be respectful of neighbors and please do not block driveways, walk through yards or leave behind trash.
Visiting Team Area
Our pool deck opens for the meet at 4:45 p.m. As you enter the pool, our visiting team area is on the far side of the pool. All spectators should bring folding chairs to sit on. Walkway space should be left on the side of the pool and down the middle of the pool deck with plenty of room for timers, judges, swimmers, and walking space on the turn end. Restrooms are available in the pool house located near the entrance gate. Please note that there will be additional space on the far end of the pool outside of the gated area. This area will be sectioned off with yellow caution tape. Please remain ONLY in the space between the yellow caution tape and the pool fence. Swimmers are not allowed on the tennis courts for any reason. Please be respectful of our neighbors and pick up all trash in your areas.
Heat Sheets & Results
There will be no paper heat sheets for sale at the meet. But computer volunteers will post results as they are available.
Volunteers
First and second shiftTimers will meet at 5:30 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the clubhouse (in the scoring room). We will not do a 2nd half timer meeting, so please have your volunteers arrive in time for this meeting. If you need accommodations for anyone, please let us know. First and second shift Stroke and Turn Officials will also meet on the 2nd floor of the clubhouse 5:30 p.m. We will switch shifts immediately following Event 36 – Boys 8 and under freestyle relay. There will be an announcement made to remind volunteers.
Our computer volunteers will be set up on the second floor of the clubhouse. The visiting team’s computer volunteer should bring their computer (with charger) to check times on. We try to save as much paper as possible, but if you would prefer to check via paper, please let us know so that we are prepared!
Concessions
Like most teams, the Barracuda Concession Stand is the team’s primary fundraiser for the season. We appreciate you dining with us and supporting our team. We accept cash and Venmo.
Meet Etiquette
We ask that the teams be respectful of the visitor’s area and dispose of all trash at the conclusion of the meet. Due to the volume of families in the pool deck and to ensure swimmers can hear the starter instructions, please do not play any music, movies, etc. from your mobile devices or use noise makers. The pool area is a no smoking or vaping, and glass free and pet free facility.Inclement WeatherDuring inclement weather, all swimmers and families are required to clear the pool deck and return to their vehicles to safely wait out the weather until further notification via a Swimtopia alert. If the meet is canceled due to weather, our makeup day is Friday.
Heat Sheets
In an attempt to stay as green as possible, we do not print heat sheets. They are attached to this email for your team to distribute, and they will be published to the Swimtopia App. We will, of course, provide your council members and coaches with copies as directed by the league!
We do try to run a tight schedule! Please ensure that you are ready for your warm ups promptly from 5:25 to 5:50 pm. Please let your volunteers know that we will have the timers meeting for ALL timers promptly at 5:30 pm and the S&T meeting at 5:30 pm. Please ensure that your volunteers listen to announcements so that all of our first half volunteers get relief!
Let’s have a great swim meet Waverunners!
