2026 Season Update
Dear Waterton Waverunner Families,
First, I want to sincerely apologize for the delay in communication regarding our pool situation for this season. We appreciate your patience as we worked through several important details behind the scenes to ensure we had accurate and complete information before sharing an update.
For those who don't know me, my daughter Anna Scull was an assistant coach for a few seasons and during her time in school I previously was Primary Council of the team. I am stepping in this year to assist with team administration.
We are pleased to confirm that the WCA Board has revisited their initial decision and has approved the swim team’s use of the Waterton pool for the 2026 season, under revised conditions that include a modified pool use schedule and increased facility fees for non-resident swimmers.
At this time, only three families on our team are resident members of Waterton Community Association (WCA). We fully understand that the pool is a community-owned asset, and it is the fiduciary responsibility of the WCA Board to protect and manage their resources in the best interest of their residents. We are truly grateful that they have chosen to extend this opportunity to our team for one more season.
Given the makeup of our team and the significantly increased financial requirements associated with pool use, we want to be transparent that we expect the 2026 season to be the final season of the Waterton Waverunners in its current form. While this is difficult news to share, we feel it is important to communicate openly and early so families have clarity moving forward.
That said, we are hopeful that this does not have to be the end of the program itself. If anyone is aware of a community with a 25-yard or 25-meter pool, with five or more lanes, and would be interested in helping explore the possibility of establishing a new team, we would love to hear from you. Our board and league partners are committed to providing as much guidance, training, and support as possible to help make that transition successful.
More details regarding season logistics, schedules, and fees will be shared soon. We are hoping to have registration opened on or before March 1st. Coaches Jenna and Zach are planning to return.
In the meantime, thank you for your continued support, understanding, and commitment to the Waverunner community. Let’s make this season a meaningful and memorable one for our swimmers.
Warm regards,
Kari Scull
Team President, Waterton Waverunners
