Waterton Newsletter - Practice Starts Next Week!
Waverunners,
It’s here! We are less than ONE week away from kicking off the 2026 summer season! This email will be lengthy, but I ask that you please read it in its entirety to make sure you are well informed.
Team Suits & Team Store
Please follow the link below to our team store to get our team suits, practice suits, goggles, extra swim caps, and anything else you may need for this season from our wonderful vendor and team sponsor, Reddiset! As a reminder, the team suit is optional but a great way to show team unity and it last year-round for those thinking of doing year-round swimming! If you need to try on swim suits, you may visit the Reddiset store in Lawrenceville, the address is on the site:

A quick reminder of what to have for practice:

- At least two practice swim caps (these rip often)
- At least two towels
- Proper hydration (water, sports drink)
- Healthy snack (emphasis on protein)
- A good sports/swim bag to keep it all in
Team Meeting - Virtual
I will host a team meeting this Thursday, 05/07 at 9:00 PM. I will be covering the basics from these emails, going over some of our head volunteers so you know what names to look for, our team manual, and taking questions. Use the link below to access the Google Meet on Thursday:

Team Bonding Event - Summer
We will be hosting a team bonding event once school lets out in downtown Grayson. Once we finalize details, we will send out this information so that our Waverunners can participate and come join the fun!
Team Manual
I will be going over this in our meeting, but please take a look at this if you are new to summer swim. It is a list that we have compiled over the years of of processes, terms, and FAQs to make the season not seem so daunting and new:

Meet Schedule - Available & Open!
2026 Waterton Waverunners Meet Schedule
As you read and agreed to in the registration, our swim meets rely and operate on 100% volunteer power. We have always had amazing turnout for our volunteer spots, and we look to continue that tradition this year. As we have a smaller team this year, our agreement has changed: each family must work one shift in each swim meet that their child participates in. Role descriptions can be found in the team manual.
Recommendations:
- RSVP your swimmers for the meets you know you will be in town for now and get your preferred volunteer slot early
- We need some folks to train for computer and stroke & turn judging. See the following section for more info
- When you RSVP, you are simply stating whether your swimmer will be present or not. Coach Zach & Eisley will be placing your swimmers in their events each week based on their practice performance and will be in contact if needed
- It is essential that all swimmers are RSVP by the Sunday night prior to each swim meets and all volunteer slots are filled by Tuesday before each swim meet at practice
- Online Stroke and Turn training is available at the link below:
- Online Starter training will be available soon.
Computer Person Training:
- May 6th at 7:30 PM - Link to Training
- May 12th at 7:30 PM - Link to Training
- You are more than welcome to stay on deck during your child’s practice time. Please just stay away from the area directly behind the coaches and dive blocks, staying on the sides of the pool
- For those of us with little ones or siblings waiting on their siblings’ practice, you must watch your own kids during these times. Coaches cannot be responsible for swimmers outside of the pool
- Our coaches are experts in their craft and need to develop trust with their swimmers. Please refrain from speaking over coaches or intervening during practice. Coach Zach and Coach Eisley will call for you or come get you in the case they need to speak to you or require your assistance
- Establish expectations of behavior with your swimmer(s) prior to next week. This is a competition swim team. While we will try to make it as fun as possible, our practices are drill-based and will focus on getting our swimmers faster before anything else. Practice time is not play time. We have precious few hours in the pool prior to our first swim meets and need each minute of preparation to be utilized properly
